PDP doesn’t deserve Kogi central votes— Bello, Ex-speaker

FORMER Speaker of Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Abdullahi Bello has said that the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, will be living in illusion if it thinks it will win majority of votes in Kogi Central senatorial axis in the November governorship polls.

Bello, who spoke with Vanguard in an exclusive chat, said both the party and its flag bearer, Capt. Idris Wada had  ‘offended’ the zone through their actions and inaction.
Bello said that Governor Wada had starved the people of the area the dividends of democracy in terms of projects as well as denied them the sole chance they have of governing the state.
His words: “It is obvious that Kogi Central will determine the winner of the November 21 governorship election. Unfortunately for the PDP; the governor cannot point to a single project he has done for the area that warrant the people of the area to vote for him.
Political deed
“First, on January 27, 2014, I was sworn in as acting governor of the State by the Chief Judge of the State. Capt Idris Wada was supposed to wait till May 29 to be sworn- in but in view of his impatience, he forcefully thwarted the system and got sworn in the following day by another judge thereby denying the people of Central the only chance of having a governor from the area, which  denied them the sense of belonging in the state. The people of the central senatorial district are yet to forgive him for that political deed.’’
