Wike dissolves board of Rivers State Civil Service Commission


PORT HARCOURT— Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State has dissolved the board of Rivers State Civil Service Commission.

The development followed a motion by the state House of Assembly on Tuesday, empowering him to dissolve the board over allegation of abuse of office.

This brings to three, the boards of commissions that have been dissolved by the governor in the past two weeks.

The others are Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission, RSIEC and Rivers State Judicial Service Commission.

They were all dissolved over allegations of abuse of office. The governor has also dissolved the boards of all parastatals.

Meantime, Governor Wike has made appointments into the boards of the Rivers State Waste Management Agency and the Greater Port Harcourt Development Authority.
